Steam Deck scraps the waiting list

Valve has announced that gamers can now buy a Steam Deck directly from the official website without needing to join a waiting list. The official Twitter account for the Steam Deck states that “starting today Steam Deck is available without reservation.” Valve is now shipping the consoles as soon as it’s ordered.

✨ Yes, it’s true: Starting today Steam Deck is available without a reservation! Order one now, and we’ll ship it to you now. Look at all these Steam Decks rolling off the factory line. It’s a beautiful thing. https://t.co/uVdBCpJVuX pic.twitter.com/lYe5kv9OUn

The Steam Deck Docking Station is finally available as well starting today. The sale page for the dock on Steam also includes an FAQ for the new item. It explains that while Valve has done “extensive testing and have confirmed the compatibility with a range of displays and peripherals,” there’s still a chance the dock might not work with specific displays.

While both the Steam Deck and the Docking Station can now be purchased without needing to join a waiting list, it may take up to two weeks for the items to ship. The Steam Deck Docking Station will cost an additional $89 on top of the price of the Steam Deck.
