Splatoon 3 is getting a three-way Splatfest this month
Nintendo just released its latest Splatoon 3-focused Nintendo Direct video. It revealed that the game’s first event will be a Splatfest with a new twist.
While the Nintendo Direct had a lot to cover about Splatoon 3, it also revealed that the first Splatfest is slightly different. The demo will feature the game’s first Splatfest event, which will be a three-way battle for the first time in the series. While it will begin with the standard Turf War, it will transfer players into a special tri-color Turf War.
It looks like it will begin with the classic two-team Turf War but will turn into a tri-color battle with each team using its own colors. The first place team will start in the center while the second and third place teams will start in opposite corners. Teams will need to expand their territory and defend it to be victorious.
Nintendo has also revealed the teams for the new Splatfest will be: Team Rock, Team Paper, and Team Scissors.
The Splatoon 3 demo can be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop on August 18 to practice before the main event. The Splatfest will be on August 27 between 9 am PT and 9 pm PT. Splatoon 3 itself will release on September 9.
