Returnal PC port accidentally teased again
Returnal on PC has been accidentally leaked and teased for months. In May, a SteamDB listing called “Oregon” was discovered with explicit mentions of areas in the game, and the assigned tags seem to match the game. Since then, there have been a few screenshot leaks, and now it looks like the developers are even showing off a PC version.
Developers from Housemarque, Risto Jankkila and Sharman Jagadeesan, gave a talk at GDC about VFX in games. The talk includes clips and screenshots from Returnal, but it’s not running on a PlayStation 5. For this presentation, Returnal is clearly running on a PC, and there’s a debug readout on the screen.
The presentation isn’t a confirmation of a commercial PC version for Returnal. The game was developed with Unreal Engine, so the debug version would need to be a PC version. However, the menu in the presentation does refer to “dynamic resolution,” which isn’t available for the PS5, and it also mentions using mouse and keyboard controls.
