CD Projekt Red recently announced the first Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty, will be released next year. However, the company has also quietly confirmed that this is the “only planned expansion” for the game.
Initially spotted by Polish website XGP, CD Projekt Red seems to have confirmed that there won’t be any other expansions for Cyberpunk 2077 after Phantom Liberty. The official company account responded to a fan commenting how excited they were about the upcoming expansion and hoping for more new content in the future. CD Projekt Red responded to the message by revealing, “Phantom Liberty is the only planned expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.”
Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City is huge and has a lot of potential for new stories, so fans may be disappointed that this expansion is the end. Combined with the fact the company has already turned its attention back to The Witcher franchise, it’s possible Cyberpunk 2077 is being pushed to the back.
